Well, we followed Terry’s advice and avoided Kansas–sorry,Kate, we didn’t read your note before taking off. We headed towards Iowa for about 2 minutes and then Nebraska! More corn and more flatness! But clean and really nice State Parks.
Now we are in Wyoming! WOW! Really spectacular! I won’t be able to send pictures because I am in the library in Lander, Wyoming–I couldn’t get my computer to connect to the internet so I am using a public computer—no internet cafes in town either –at least nobody knows of one! Nice people, though. Very friendly to out of towners–this is a climbing area and John is in Heaven! They are used to the climbers hanging around.
We went on a fabulous hike today –I need to get more words to describe the beauty–I kept saying “Wow!” We followed a roaring river, the Popo Agie, and kept going up higher and higher–to the waterfall. The skies were clear and it was about 70 degrees–can’t get much better!
We have been really RVing — and doing quite well. So glad to have 17 feet to enclose us last night —it was windy, cold and raining when we arrived. We are near the Wind Rivers–now I know where they got the name!
We will be heading to Yellowstone now and/or Idaho Falls to visit some of John’s old friends. Then, no family or friends until Portland–and Peggy! There is so much to see before that, it may take us a while, Peg. Don’t sell my clothes yet–it will be nice to have something different to wear in the city.
We are eating in town tonight–big treat!
I just added some pictures–more later!
